Megan Fox Loves This Nail Color So Much She Got Engaged Wearing It

When Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly got engaged in January, no one could stop talking about her ring. As a beauty editor, however, my eyes were laser focused on something else—her manicure. Fox got engaged with a gunmetal chrome French manicure, and I immediately added it to my saved Instagram posts.

Chrome nail polish has been having a bit of a resurgence lately, with everyone from Fox to Olivia Rodrigo wearing the metallic polish. While your mind may immediately go to silver polish when you think of chrome, there are actually plenty of different chrome nail polish shades to choose from. Chrome nail polish is simply metallic with a high amount of reflectivity, and it can come in every shade under the sun. Below, I rounded up the absolute best shades of chrome nail polish to test.

Channel Fox's engagement mani with this gunmetal-silver shade. It's silver with just the right amount of black mixed in for a cool, unexpected twist. I strongly suspect this might be the actual color on Fox's nails—it's extremely similar.
Gold nails will always scream luxury and opulence. I love this gilded shade from Chanel.
Feel like Barbie by opting for pink nails. This shade leans a tad blue in the light, making it even more interesting.
Icy blue nails are unexpected and the epitome of cool. This silvery-blue polish is like a flash of lightning across the sky.
Bejewel your fingertips with this amethyst-toned shade. It flashes between smoky purple and deep emerald, making it the perfect duo-chrome polish.
This golden shade leans semi-silver. In my opinion, this is the best way to mix metals.
A chrome periwinkle is the nail color of my dreams. Silver and lilac shimmer elevate this polish to the next level.
For a straight silver chrome, reach for this nail polish. It looks especially polished if you pair it with silver jewelry.
This JinSoon shade is the chameleon of nail colors. Emerald in some lights and turquoise blue in others, it looks majestic on nails.
Didn't think chrome could be a neutral? This Essie shade is here to prove you wrong. It's an off-white base with subtle green-toned shimmer, making it the ideal chrome to try if you like to keep things a little more subdued.
This is the kind of silver polish reserved for rock stars and resident cool people. It's an edgy pewter gray that's sure to turn heads.
Bronze chrome? Say less. I'd be happy to come in third place if it meant being able to coat my fingers in this nail polish.
This unique color might be the ultimate duo-hue chrome. It's dark purple at the base, but it reflects yellow in some lights—it's almost like putting a crystal ball on your nails.
