I don't have the data to support it, but I have a good feeling that I spend more time than average scrolling through the farthest corners of TikTok in search of beauty inspiration on and off the clock. I'm constantly on the lookout for commonalities shared among the app's users, tracing beauty trends from the early days of their conception to Gen Z–approved fruition. One all generations can agree on, however, is using popular faces in the beauty space as a reference for their own looks. Hungarian model Barbara Palvin is, by far, one of the most recognizable on the app and beyond—Palvin's Instagram page has garnered a jaw-dropping audience of over 20.4 million followers.
Her presence in the beauty and fashion space has been felt nonstop, with appearances on the international covers of Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Glamour, and Elle as well as appearances on and off the runway as a Victoria's Secret Angel. Since becoming the new face of Armani's Acqua di Gioia, Palvin has become an ambassador for Armani Beauty. I tapped the model for her biggest beauty secrets, favorite products, and a breakdown of the internet-breaking bridal look she pulled off during her July 2023 wedding to actor Dylan Sprouse. Ahead, learn everything you need to know about model-worthy makeup straight from the source.
There's absolutely no denying that model has a unique ability to flawlessly execute beauty trends while embracing her natural features. A quick scroll through her Instagram page reveals a feed peppered with everything from editorial photo shoots with major brands to snaps of her everyday life. "When I'm in a time crunch, my go-to products are Armani Beauty's Luminous Silk Foundation, Eyes to Kill Wet Waterproof Mascara, and Lip Powder Lipstick," she explains. "Even just these three products make such a difference in helping me look put-together." In many of her personal pics posted to her page, Palvin sports fresh-faced, barely-there makeup looks while on the go.
It's no wonder her approach to quick and easy makeup happens to be the blueprint of the social media–driven "model off duty" look that's risen to prominence over the past couple of years. Palvin also has a soft spot for 2023's '90s-inspired makeup trends, more of which we'll be seeing throughout this year on and off the runway. "[I] just want the '90s strong-lip-liner trend to stay," says Palvin. In 2024, beauty trends are certainly skewing in her favor, with chocolate-colored liner and full, glossy lips predicted to stick around a while longer with modern-day products.
The arrival of January gives us the perfect opportunity to hop on the last of winter's beauty trends, and I'll be taking cues from Palvin to kick off the New Year in style. "I always love to go with a stronger lip—not necessarily a classic red lip, but maybe something deeper and darker," she says. To create this bold look, she layers Armani's Lip Power Matte in shades 603 and 207. The stunning lip combo is also her go-to during the holiday season.
Countless makeup looks Palvin's worn over the past few years have gone viral, with the biggest one being her ethereal bridal beauty look last summer. "On my wedding day, I wanted to create a timeless look to enhance my features but not hide them," she explains. "We kept it very natural with my favorite Armani Beauty products." Her makeup artists, Richárd Fazekas and Denise Papp, used five products to create it: Armani's aforementioned pairing of the Luminous Silk Foundation in 40 and Eyes to Kill Wet Waterproof Mascara as well as the Neo Nude A-Blush in 30, Neo Nude A-Highlight in 10, and Lip Maestro in 107 and 108.
The model's textured, wind-swept waves created by hairstylists Owen Gould and Balázs Barsi framed the blushing bride's face under a veil throughout the wedding ceremony held in the same Albertirsa, Hungary, church her parents also married in. During the reception, Palvin donned a flowing white hair bow as she danced the night away with her husband and loved ones. The end result was a bridal look that was altogether memorable, timeless, and youthful. Below, shop the key products that helped bring it to life.
You've heard it here first—2024 will be the year of supermodel-inspired beauty, and Palvin will be at the helm. If you're itching to get a jump on the trend before it picks up speed, you'll want to keep scrolling for a sneak peek at the products by Armani Beauty that I'll be adding to my late-winter/early-spring makeup routine before they completely sell out.
