Meghan Markle Took a Cue From Amal Clooney For Her Outfit to Visit the UN

Today, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry embarked upon NYC for a special reason. Harry was the keynote speaker during the United Nations General assembly to mark the observance of Nelson Mandela International Day. Markle accompanied him to the UN headquarters.

A visit to the UN requires professional, conservative attire, which is exactly what Markle went for, and her outfit reminded us a lot of something her friend Amal Clooney wears when she visits the UN. As a human rights attorney, Clooney spends a considerable amount of her time at UN headquarters when she's in New York. We found evidence of her wearing a very similar outfit to Markle's in April of 2019, down to the bag and shoes. Perhaps Markle did her research or consulted her friend, or perhaps she just gets it.

Scroll to see Markle's all-black look for the visit (and Clooney's that perhaps inspired it), and shop black pieces that would be perfect for your own work wardrobe—in case you're back at the office.
