Everyone Asked "Where'd You Get That?" When I Wore These Fall Pieces

Welcome to Before I Head Out, a monthly series in which fashion editor Anneliese Dominguez rounds up the snaps she's taken of her favorite outfits before heading out the door of her Los Angeles apartment.

Despite all my doubts, we've had some majorly fall-ish days here in Los Angeles. In the past two months, I've been able to brush the dust off of a few of my things from the depths of the closet (sweaters!) and put them back in rotation. And even if the days don't require something heavy (I said fall-ish, okay?), my 'fits still lean into the appropriate fabrics and colors for the season. I've got faux-leather jacket layers, corduroy pants paired with tanks for nights out, and knee-high suede boots. And I've been getting compliments on it all. Whether it's someone asking me for a link from an outfit on my Instagram (where I now post all my shopping escapades) or stopping me in the street for the name of a brand I'm wearing. Want to see a few that have gotten some extra love lately? Keep scrolling.

I have a little faux-leather trench obsession—throwing one on just makes everything that much chicer. While I do have quite a few in various lengths and colors, I like that this one stops right before my knees. (I'm 5'9", so for my petite friends, it will be a little different.) It doesn't feel as wintry as my ankle-length ones, making it a perfect transitional piece. And the jeans? I don't think I've ever worn them without getting stopped somewhere by someone asking for the details.

Red is the color of the year. And look, there are so many variations of red cardigans on the internet right now, but nothing really beats the price of this one from Old Navy. $37? Please. This is the epitome of a high-low outfit with the addition of my Bottega Veneta Mini Wallace bag. It's all about balance, baby. At least that's what I keep telling my bank account and my husband.

This Reformation top kept selling out, so I'm happy I got my hands on it. It's the perfect date night piece! I like that you can adjust the shoulders—so if you want it to cover a bit more, it can. Paired with this fun silver bag and some Staud Wally boots? Too good.

And here I am, yet again, with my favorite ruched Reformation top. But you guys have heard enough about that in my other Before I Head out articles. I'm here to talk about these pants. Mine are from the brand Lioness and are unfortunately sold out at the moment, but I found an alternative from fashion-person-favorite brand Nili Lotan. And while an investment, they won't disappoint. Plus, they come in an array of chic colors if you're picky.

For a recent Paige campaign, I got sent a few pieces from its latest fall drop. My favorite two were easily this ultra-chic midi dress and some knee-length suede boots. They work perfectly together. The look is so easy to throw on but really feels elevated.

This was my first time trying out the gorpcore trend, and I'm into it. I had these pieces from On but didn't want to style them with just regular activewear, so I went with this maxi skirt. While I had to remove the jacket after approximately 15 minutes of being outside, the shoes kept me comfy all day long.

It's officially cozy season in the Henderson household, and my husband and I are celebrating with our Elwood sets. I now swear by the brand for ultra-comfy basics that I can wear in and out.
